I've almost convinced myself to try one. The Grandsons would monopolize it for the "coolness" but I have plenty of time to see if it's really worth the extra $$. I'm just not sure if it's actually going to be an improvement over the RAR compact I already have. I finally found a couple ammo types it likes and although it's not on the level of Tom's CZ, it's not too shabby.
If the RPR is good enough to edge out the CZ at least part of the time, I'd be OK spending the extra $$.

Do all of them have the thick barrel?
I handled one today and it is HEAVY.

All that I've handled have the same diameter barrel, and I've read of no other diameter options.

And Heavy is relative. 6.8 pounds is not bad for a gun that's designed for shooting off a support. They could trim 3/4 pound off the weight, but then we'd be back to the Ruger American rimfire.
