Ruger Precision Rimfire in 17HMR and 22WMR

Just saw this in American Rifleman. Is this new or old news?

They are listed as NEW on the Ruger site. It appers that thy are not shipping yet though.

Just got an email from sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore, listing them in stock.

Buy one now. If it doesn't meet expectations, you can resell it as others scramble to get one.

I was just fixing to post this. The rifles are available with either a 9 or 15 round magazine in either 17HMR or 22 Magnum. The 15 round magazine is sku90585 and holds 15 rounds of either 17HMR or 22 magnum. The rifle sku's are 8402, 3, 4, 5. I assume the 15 round mag will work in the standard American rimfires. Bob!!

I'm seeing them on other web sites. So they are now shilping. The 15 round mags will apparently work in some other rifles as well.

Gotta love Ruger finally listening and building a high cap 22magnum magazine.

I would bet within a year or two the reintroduction of the 10/22magnum!

Apparently the new 15 round mags will work with the 77 & American.

Of course it will. Cmon!

And the 10/22M and my Magnum Research 17-22... the 15 round mag is the only part I'm interested in.

After having the stuff sitting unused in storage for years , a while back I sold all my 17M2 ammo and the barrel to go with it (at a HUGE profit BTW) that funded the purchase of a very mediocre RAR 17 HMR. The 17M2 is great for what it is but the niche is just too narrow for me to go back.
I'd be looking at a 17HMR precision if I hadn't spent a considerable amount to have my spare 77/17 barrel threaded last year. W/o further need for another precision low noise critter removal tool, I'll just wait.

Sorry guys, I think when I posted the one above on the 17 Mach 2, I meant to post this one . They were side by side on 22 Plinkster's website. I just now realized my mistake in the two postings. That's what I get for posting late at night(like this one :wink: :lol: )

My local Academy won the availability contest here in North Texas (I had been bugging both Academy in Denton and the Cabela's in far north Fort Worth for months, wanting to know if they had received the RPR in 22LR). Academy got their RPR in 22LR AND another one in 17HMR on May 1st - and I bought the 22LR tonight.

No word on when they expect the 22WMR version.

A quick trip to Cabelas tomorrow morning to get the Nikon scope mounted on the RMR, and hopefully I'll have time to shoot it tomorrow evening!

This my 17HMR, truly a fun rifle to take to the range.

Was at the range yesterday finally stopped raining, little windy, but all in all had a great day shooting my 17HMR.
