Today has been an interesting day, just returned from an off the grid vacation for two weeks. When I walked in my office this morning I saw an orange box on my desk and then I remembered an email I received while on vacation.

Subject: You

I left you a present.
------------------

This was from someone I have worked with for the last 12 years and had become good friends with. He left the company and has moved on to another form of employment.

While we had worked together he knew I was a gun guy and he really never was, One time he did tell me he did have a gun and showed me a very nice 6" standard he said had been in his family for a long time. I encouraged him to get out and shoot, but it really was not his thing. I told him if he ever wanted to sell it to let me know, but I didn't get the feeling that he ever would let it go.

He didn't want to sell it. He wanted to give it to me. Great guy, and now I have another gun that I will never sell. I'll keep it and if he ever wants it back he knows where to get it.

That just goes to show you that there are a lot of really nice and thoughtful people still out there. It's great that you got to know one.
