While at the LGS two weeks ago I eyeballed a beautiful MKIII w/ slab barrel (5.5" target/competition) w/ fiber optic sights, smooth cocobolo grips and gold colored trigger (model 10122). The week before, I bought a LC9 from the same LGS and I just couldn't resist the MKIII.

Long story short (being an eng and physicist), I took the gun apart for a good cleaning after I had ran about 100 rds of Winchester 555s (had a few misfires/fail to feed correctly). Needless to say, it was a royal PITA getting apart and back together. I finally got it together; however, in my carelessness, I broke the "v" rear sight on one side (broke in half). Needless to say, I was really angry at myself knowing that these MKs are a Rosie O’Donnell to put back together at least the first time.

I called Ruger, told them what happened and w/o hesitation the rep stated, "no problem, we'll be sending a sight free of charge." I was fully expecting to pay for the part due to my ignorance and surely wasn't expecting Ruger to pick up the tab.

All I can say is, at least to me, what a great company along w/ great CS. I've got 5 Ruger handguns (two SR9c-wifey carries one of them, P95, LC9 and the MKIII).

BTW, I understand that the MKIII I bought is a limited edition of 1500 pieces. I buy my guns to shoot, but am curious if this gun will be a collector gun some day.

My other guns are a Mossberg 500 w/ 3 barrels for home defense and a S&W M&P AR15 OR w/ scope. Awesome gun in my opinion.

Now, where to fine an SR1911 dammit!

Excellent!

I have yet to have a bad experience with Ruger's customer service!

:D

Ruger definetely has supurb customer service. I bought a brand new SS SP101 22 LR 8 shot with the 4.2" bbl and after rotating the cylinder a few times it jammed up and would not lock up the cylinder on 2 of 8 holes. So I got out the eye loop and discovered the star had burrs and such on those 2 holes, called Ruger and all I had to do was tell them where to have UPS show up at and box it up. Had the gun back in 5 working days fixed and it has operated perfectly since. Would be nice if they'd discovered that before shipping but at least they fixed it no charge, hassle or anything. Interesting note however that the service gal told that is NOT to ship it back in the original grey plastic case as the service dept just cuts the box open and tosses it, which I thought was very odd but at least she told me and now I still have the original box S/N'd to the gun. Another good one is Henry Repeating arms. They fixed a lever I bought used at no charge or shipping and very promptly.
