Hi everyone!

My name is Jeff and I am from CT.
New to the Ruger forums, but not new to firearm forums or firearms in general. :P

I recently picked up a mint MKI in a trade but know very little about them. The front sight appears to be "bent" and leans to the left. It is a 5.5" bull barrel model. Are the sights from the MKII or MKIII interchangable between the bull barrelled models?

Thanks Guys/gals!

Jeff

Welcome to the Forum!
Yes,, you can swap out the sight blades. Simple, one screw. HOWEVER,,, you will want to check the part numbers. Some guns had different base sizes etc. and of course, the blade height. A quick check of the manuel, get the part number,, and contact Ruger for the correct one.

yes, they are interchangible, simpy unscrew and replace,,,,,,,, the pictures do not show a "bend" ??? they can be fixed at times but the sight is cheap enough to "why bother"..................
yes, you can even use a ramp sight ,from a Super Single Six if you do not like the "can opener" reverse cut on the target models, they can and will dig up and ruin a holster and cut your hand if you are not careful in handling.

The reason I ask it may show us just what is "wrong" ?? with the fron sight, is it bent? is on on "crooked"? is the barrel canted? each can be remedied in a different fashion ( repaired)......just would help in making a determination of what the problem may be...........................

The gun was just sold. But it was in fact bent and was fixed with a new front sight.

Thanks!
Jeff
