Just picked this 357/9mm convertible up at the FFL and now I understand why people say the full size Blackhawk is oversized for the 357 cartridge. Great ergonomics on this gun and love the trimmed down grips.
Compare the cylinder chamber/throat wall thickness to .44 Mag. Remember .44Mag has about the same max SAAMI psi. The wall thickness in .357 in the medium frame and large frame and you can tell it is 'over kill' and 'over over kill' . The Medium frame though conforms more to standard Colt size so just feels right.... Which is a good thing .However, there's some comfort in knowing you aren't going to blow one up.

If standard Blackhawk is oversize for 357 Magnum, can you imagine full size Bisley with 7.5" barrel. That is the reason why I didn't keep 357 Magnum Bisley for long time.Antipaladin said:Just picked this 357/9mm convertible up at the FFL and now I understand why people say the full size Blackhawk is oversized for the 357 cartridge.
