Assuming same condition what's the average value of an unconverted Ruger three screw 5 digit serial numbered revolver in these caliber's in today's marketplace?

1. 357 magnum
2. 41 magnum
3. 45 Colt

Barrel length would make a big price difference. So would whether its a factory convertible, verified factory brass frame, etc.

Far too many variables in place to really give a good idea.

Way too many variables to be a fair comparison.

To those of us who collect,, the small details can be worth a lot of money. In both New Models & Old Models. But especially in the Old Models.
NIB condition or shooter grade?
OM FT or OM protected ears?
Barrel length?
Factory brass g/f or not?
Production numbers & availability?
"S", "D" marked or not?

These are just a few things that affect values.

Ok, shooter grade with the 4 5/8" barrel, standard configuration with aluminum grip frame. Non flat top.

If they all have the same barrel length and same wear, the 45 Colt w/one cyl will generally garner a bit higher sale price. The 357/9MM and 45/45 ACP convertible models are in a different value category of course.

However the pre 1962 357 3 screw flat top frames can approach the 45 value do to market preference, and those desiring a host gun for conversion to 44 Spl.

The 4 5/8" barrels in any caliber generally have a slightly higher resale value due to market demand.

Thanks guys about what I expected. Now are all the old model Blackhawks on the same size frame? My OM 4 5/8" serial number 59xxx in .357 magnum seems pretty trim for a 41 or 45 payload.

I gave $400 for a 4 5/8" OM .357. It lettered a brass frame shipped! I added the correct brass gf. Same time, I gave $700 for a .45 OM convertible. Very clean, accurate .45. I did ream the throats.
