Has anyone heard of Ruger marking pistols with a "U" in front of the serial number. I was told that means it left the factory Used. If so, any idea if that's valuable to collectors.

Thanks for any feedback you have!

Oh yeah, U for used ..... may of been on display at SHOT show or some other event. Maybe loaned to a gun writer/magazine, etc.

Some may pay a small premium for such a find. Also depends on if the whole package is there ..... box, paperwork, etc.

Like the late Mr. Bob Campbell used to say.." another picayune variation" and as such, any and all of those "different" markings makes the gun yes another "variation" and thus "collectible" to those who want to make their collection "complete".......yes the "U" is getting to become more collectible, not quite up there to or with the "S" guns....another story of Ruger lore, in the world, "as the cylinder turns, so do the days of our lives"..........another quote to the late Don Wilks....RIP guys 8)
