My 3" Wiley Clapp GP100 is unusable at present. I bought it used, so not sure of round count. I shot about 80 rounds through it the other day and then suddenly the cylinder would not close. I assumed the cylinder to barrel gap was too tight and some lead had built up. But, on closer inspection, the issue is the the bushing around the cylinder latch is protruding and the indexing star is binding on it. Anyone else have such an issue? Got any suggestions?

Is the star protruding slight? Maybe carbon build up behind it not letting it fully seat? I have had this happen on occasion.

I didn't think the gun was dirty enough to cause an issue, but.....there was a small piece of metal or something caught under the indexing star. After I picked it out, all is well. I had checked the shaft, but this was stuck to the cylinder. I got it out though. Thanks!

I shoot revolvers way way more than anything else.

This is why I carry an old grungy toothbrush in my range bag.

I shoot 50 or so rounds, quick brush under that star and shoot some more.
