From Gunbroker, a supposedly rare GP 100 in 38 Special with a 3" barrel and grey finish. Is the quantity of 20 units about right, and that it was produced for Davidsons?

The poster (who is not me BTW) is interested in selling.

If by 20 you mean 20 units made a lot more than 20 were made in .38 a couple of years back albeit I don't know the number. Years before there was a Model 1708 in .357 mag that some stated there were about 20 in existence.

I have 2 of the Model 1751. KGP-831.
One had a production date of Nov. 2013. The other would have to check box. Serial
# 176-861xx and 176-799xx

have one of the 3" stainless 38 specials with adjustable sights.

I believe there was a large special run for some customer. The over run was put to the public. Seems at the time there were 36 or so for sale. I don't know how accurate that Intel was or if there were more for sale later.

I shoot mine and I'm very pleased with it. Also worth noting is it shares holsters with the 3" 44 special.

The model 1751 3" adj. sighted .38 probably had 1000 to 2000 units dumped on the market through Davidson's. When they came out Davidson would list a large number and the dealers seemed to have a number in stock, also. It took over a year for the stock to go down.
