Has anyone perfected 40 clips for shooting 40 in the new 10 mm ruger gp100 revolver? From what I have heard so far the clips have somewhat hit or miss.

I "think" I have seen the moonies you want on TK custom but $$$$$$$$
It is interesting that my Ranch moonies for my Mod 610 S&W work fine with 10 or 40 S&W ?

I tried this with both TK Custom and Ranch clips, the accuracy wasn't there for me. It was a spur of the moment purchase though.
Best,

I have not been able to get to the range yet with my GP100MC 10MM. I have shot 40 S&W in my 5"S&W 610 and it was accurate enough to break clay pigeons at 25 yards . Fairly hot lad of blue dot and Hdy 155 XTP shot pretty close to the 10MM 180 grain loads . I am sure the 40 S&W can be made to shoot in the GP100 just have to play with the loads some.

The moonclip should not be an accuracy issue if the clip fits and you can shoot ok.
It is probably the revolver does not like the shorter rnd for some reason like the extra jump to the end of the cylinder.

There can be a .03 difference between 10mm and .40 bullets-----doesn't seem like much though.

Short case in a longer chamber is never optimum for accuracy.

I agree with that, although the .38 Sp. in a .357 Mg. chamber seems to work well. I think that once the difference gets to be much more than 1/8" accuracy suffers.

I was told that two different thicknesses were required with the TK moon clips. Has anyone found this to be true? I am still using the OEM moon clips.

The thicker clips will hold the .40 S&W case back against the recoil plate for more positive ignition. The 10mm clips are thinner, the brass head spaces on the case mouth.
