No problem. I am looking for a base gun to have made into a 10mm/.38-40 convertible but I want a Flattop Bisley in blue. It would be cheaper if they made this but oh well

If you start with a standard Model 38/357 convertible and switch to a Bisley grip, hammer and trigger which are available as take offs.

Or start with a 44 Spl Bisley; the cyl and barrel are in demand for converting old model 357s to 44 Spl. You could sell or trade and probably come out even.

You can look for used New Vaquero and Flat Top 357 cyls and barrel take offs which show up from time to time on the auctions.

I also get Ruger take off barrels and cyls from Custom pistol smiths like:

Lipsey's made the .357/9mm convertible flattop in blue and stainless with 4-5/8" or 5-1/2" barrels with the normal XR3 grip frame. They didn't do any Bisleys.

Yep. Going to go with a Flattop .357/9mm convertible in blue and have a Bisley grip frame installed, new 5 inch barrel with a Fermin Garza front sight, steel ERH, rechamber it to .38-40/10mm, case harden the frame, trigger and hammer and rust blue the rest, and finally some fancy Walnut grips

Sounds excellent! A great medium frame package.

My only additional thought is that the flat top medium frame will not have the strength for the full potential of the .38-40, a.k.a., the .40 WCF Magnum.

A 41 or 44 Mag NM large frame flat top would be. Of course that doesn't matter if you're not looking for mega performance.

1983 vintage NM 357 large frame converted to 38-40; with steel ejector housing and grip frame:
