I got my LCR 327 federal mag today. I go to clean and lube it.
The grip screw is not the slotted type on my other LCRs, this one is slotted and allen head type.
It came out hard all the way, it was cross threaded. I cleaned it up best I could oiled it and reinstalled the grip when I was done.
I have emailed Ruger and requested a new screw and asked what size it is. I need to get a tap to chase the threads in the frame.

Does anyone know what size the grip screw is?

Thanks

The grip screw on my 3" .38 is an 8-32 pan head with a T10/slotted drive and is 1.25" long with 0.5" of thread.

I have a plethora of 8-32 taps if you're interested.
ETA: it's a blind hole on mine, if yours is the same, make sure to get a bottoming tap.

Thanks, I just looked and I have an 8-32 bottoming tap. And yes mine is a blind hole same as yours.
I should be able to get a new screw at Ace Hardware in the morning, then off to the range.

Thanks again.
