I just saw this sale at GunAuction: https://www.gunauction.com/buy/15842337
It's had customizing work, making it a .50 Special.

Anybody ever hear of that caliber ??

The write-up at the website says this,
"The .50 Special cartridge is a wonderfully accurate and pleasant round with minimal recoil and muzzle blast, shooting 300 – 350 gr. bullets to 800-900 fps."

And those words from the seller's website which I copied above would look to be taken from the Bowen Classic Arms website:
http://www.bowenclassicarms.com/catalog/ruger_double_action_big_bore_caliber_conversions.html

Anyway, back to the .50 Special ..... I can't (yet) find any reference(s) to it.

It's the .500Linebaugh cut to .44Spl length. I always wanted one like the 4" blued Redhawk in the old Taffin article. If I'd seen that one, I probably would've bid on it.

That looks like a nice set up. That would get even me to start reloading.

Looks like it was done by Brownells which gives me confidence in it, but the front sight insert has fallen out which lessens the confidence.

But I'd have bought it for that price!
