"Why not go with the SP101 in all steel for the .357?"

Because some people prefer light weight, over heavier guns for carry. Frequent shooters often prefer heavier guns for shooting over the light ones.

I already have that version. I've been waiting for this, perfect woods gun for 2 legged, mountain lions and black bears. I like my 3" SP101 but a LCR is lighter.

My SP101 with a 2.25 inch barrel weighs 25oz , I really like this handgun ,
My LCR357 with bantam boot grip boot weighs 16oz , (drops 1 oz)
The trigger on my LCR357 is great , the trigger on my SP101 is heavier but I still like it (wolf springs on order) ...
Will I purchase the LCR357X with a 3 inch barrel ? , yes , But I'm going to wait till the new wears off and keep a eye on Gunbroker and snatch one ,!

It will be a OWB and duties will be woods / street carry ... Basically, like my Glock 29 ..

Ruger will sell a bunch of them as said. I found a big difference between shooting my 101 and my LCR. 101 no problem with heavy 357 loads, with my LCR no fun shooting heavy 357 loads. For woods carry I'll stick with my 100. Yes heavier than both but handles everything put in it.

Have thought of the LCRx in .22LR but I have a 101 and 100 for that also....

I'll still carry with P+ in a 3" LCR 357 just as I carry P+ in my 3" SP101. I prefer the extra weight a 357 rated snubbie gives over a 38 rated snubbie. And I prefer 3" over 2" in my snubbies.

While I am always excited to see a new ruger wheel gun I think I may pass on this one. Already have the lcr 357 for edc with 38+p's. As a light weight woods gun I think it would do well if not currently having the 2inch version.

Who am I kidding? I will probably buy one

Gramps, I am with you on this one! Too late to the party at that price. I would have bought one a while back , but a LCR 38 ..3 inch SP101 & Kimber K6 later..and I'll pass on this one.

I almost bought the LCRx when it first came out, the price was right, the caliber WRONG! Ruger is years late, the cost has doubled. NO THANKS!

Gramps bide your time. Find a used one. If they don't sell, they will end up on CDNN Firearms, Grabagun, or one of those buy them low sell them fast sites. You will get one.
