Anybody here own s/n 55-12533?

Today I ran across near mint shipper for that gun, model 0551, BNV-44 in 45 Colt.

The yellow and black hinged box is there too. Don't know if it is THE box that came with the gun since there is no "end label" on the yellow and black box; only on the shipper.

The "Vaquero" cited above did come in the cardboard wrapped one piece yellow ,with black end box inside the sleeve and yes, many did NOT have any end label on this inner box just a plain ,black end??? and seems like they put ALL the Vaqueros, short or long barrels in this same LONG box....any and all the "data" catalog info, etc was on the outside end label of the cardboard sleeve....for years and years Ruger used these same boxes for the returns of the "safety updates" and in fact the extra boxes could have been bought for like $5.00 each plus shipping, OR if you gave them a serial number for the "old model" to be returned this box, paperwork and label were "free"...........have not seen any "recent" up to date ( current) return boxes?????
Hittman good luck finding the gun that goes in THAT particular cardboard 'sleeve' we had thousands of them ' sleeves' over the years and never, not one time, found a "match", we simply remarked the outside with a black marker to fit what we put in the sleeve or used them for shipping other stuff after a GOOD "tape" reinforcement job........ 8)

You're right Dan. ..... it's the looong box that came with a 4 5/8 inch barrel gun.

If they're common I'll just squirrel it away for later. Lord knows something will come up and somebody will have a use for it eventually.
