How do you like them?

I'm thinking of getting one, but I've never seen one in a LGS.

I'll have to order it.

Perhaps the Single Seven in 327 Federal, or a 45 ACP Talo.

Can you get three fingers on the grip?

I have a NV in .45 ACP with the Bird's Head 3.7 inch barrel and like the way it handles and shoots.
Also have the Uberti/Colt version in .45 Colt. It was the Running Iron revolver with 3.5 inch barrel that I adapted the Uberti Bird's Head grip frame to. Real nice shooter with slicked up action.

Good little guns to shoot! Had both out one day https://youtu.be/FQHuU5XvNM0

I have one gun with birds head grips on it,,, and I have 3-4 sets of g/f's & grips. TO answer the questions,,,!
I like the one I have & it's on a 32 H&R. I do not think I would enjoy the recoil on a heavy caliber.

Can you get 3 fingers on the grip? That depends upon YOUR hands. Some folks,, yes,,,, others No.

There GREAT, especially in the short barrel guns. Think of "birdshead" as nothing but a round butted XR3-RED "standard plow" in fact you can put those grip panels on your birdshead and they fit up just fine, you can even fashion a "filler" if you want.
First picture shows a marker line of where to cut off to modify a XR3-RED to Birdshead.
I have also noticed & should be noted that the front bottom tip of the birdshead frame, tips up just a tad, ever so slight but a nice detail.

And a few of my favorites. 45/ACP, 22/MAG, 327...

I also had a 32H&R MAG and had plans to cut the 4.6 barrel down to ~3" range, Then Ruger did the short barreli in the 327M, Saved me some $$.

The BH .327 is at the top of my want list. Will look for one after I get my new 3" SP101 .327 home. The 7 shooter looks like an awesome little gun.

I like mine, but with. 44 mag loads I find getting consistent repeatable shots is difficult. With 44 special loads it is much easier.

I'm a birdhead for sure....all 45s, they fit my hands very nicely, and shoot fairly well also.

Well after all I am birdhead, and these have been a ton of fun to play with. Did you notice the longer Zane's grips have aged the better they look. I need to get some up to date photos of these guns.

I have a 3 3/4" BH in 45 colt and IMO full power loads aren't to bad in it.
If I was forced to carry a single action every day, this would probably be my choice.

My shorty New Vaquero Birdshead in .45 ACP is a pussycat. And easy to carry. No, I cannot get 3 fingers on the grip, but neither can I get three fingers on a Blackhawk grip. I don't know why it works so well for me, but it does.
