Is there any truth to the rumor the Ruger is running a short run on the Old Army revolver for Talo ? I have seen a few posts on Facebook about this but was not sure. A phone call to Ruger about this was returned with a NO, so what's going on.
Thanks

They were out there a few months ago. I picked one up from my FFL, and saw several on Gunbroker at the time. Not sure if more are due out or not.

They are still out there, but pricey. You should be able to find the older ones for around $500 or so.

Observations Of differences I have noticed;
This latest run of guns seemed to be a cleanup, and priced in the $800-900 range.

The ram rod lever was the SHORT, as you would see on 5.5" guns, IMO it looked goofy on the 7.5" guns.

They were also marked "45 CAL" on the left side of the cylinder frame.

Blued guns Grips had RED "SR" medallions. I'm guessing these were left over from the 50th Single Six. Nice looking grips.
Stainless Guns Black "R" medallions and laminate.

Adjustable & Fixed sights in blued Guns, Fixed only in stainless.

And of course "NEWPORT" marked.

NDIH: Here are some offered on GB with good pictures.

Thanks so much, I looked at the Gunbroker links you listed, I also noticed that the serial number prefix starts with 147, on the Stainless gun, the frame polishing looks awful and the barrel billboard looks like they used a different stamp, the letters seem to be very small.

You might check with our own "acrylictnk."

Not sure how Mike came out on these, but he's a top-notch guy to deal with...

One of TALO's blurbs said there were only 200.
Would like to know the quantities of the five different models. I don't believe they are all equal in number.
Great point on that 5-1/2" style loading lever...never would have seen that.
I also saw the GB auction for serial number 147-00004, a BP7 model 1401. Don't know if the seller did it or if it came from the factory this way, but it had a pair of cowboy Single-Six type (KNR6) red laminate grips on it. Looked pretty strange on an Old Army.

I have also seen that five different models were offered. I've seen auctions for the 1401, 1405, 1406 and 1411. What was the 5th model?

I don't know anything about a 5th model, but I have an unfired model 01411 that I wish I hadn't bought. Now I don't think I will ever my money back out of it. I had to get a letter from Ruger to find out when it was shipped. It's just way to nice to shoot.
