A few months ago, I bought a Single-Six flatgate on Gunbroker. When I picked it up from the ffl and got a good look at it, it was in waaaay nicer condition than I expected. It has a couple of very small cosmetic flaws, but shows little or no signs of use or wear. (If I remember, I will find some pics of it to post later).
So, I gave it a nice cleaning (it didn't really need it), and kept it around to look at it.
Today, though, I decided that it wasn't doing me, or anyone else for that matter, any good sitting at home being a museum piece, so I took it to the range.
I put about 50 or 60 rounds through it, and invited two or three others to shoot it. Wow. What a sweet little shooter.
I will take good care of it, as I do with every gun I own, but I'm gonna shoot and enjoy it. I can't take it with me.
