Ruger cream grips?

I picked up an OM .41 mag this week, which came with a set of plastic(?) cream colored grips. I know they didn't come with the revolver originally, but anything significant about the grips? Is it possible to clean them up or possibly polish them to restore the original luster? Thanks!

They appear to be a bonded polymer type of grip. A form of plastic. Maybe a type of plastic polish with very fine grit & such could clean them up? Kinda like the stuff they use to polish headlight lenses.

I've had good results with toothpaste to clean and shine up polymer type grips.

Novus #1 and #2 works quite well.

Try automotive polishing compound from any Wal-Mart or auto parts store.
