Just looked at a new, just purchased GP100 in .22LR and can report that Ruger managed
to have the "front sight gap" on that model also. It's got about a .020 gap under it.
Also we had some discussion about a year ago regarding chamfers on the cylinder
bores.....well they're back now.
This one has plenty of hammer rub on the right side, soon to have about .010
worth of shims to eliminate the slop.
Just a update...

Bought my GP-100 22 on Feb. 15 and the fit an finish are perfect. It is a perfect match for my 16 year old GP. It was shooting 6 inches low at 30 yards out of the box, but it adjusted in nicely and after about 150 rounds there is no complaints.

If you could take a look at your front sight and see if there is a gap
from the barrel to sight base and see if the cylinder has chamfers
on the charge holes. Just curious, thanks.
My friends new one was shooting very low also, had to adjust
the rear sight a bunch.

I hear Davidsons will be putting out a 4" as a distributor exclusive.

David, the front sight is a perfect fit, just like my SP-101 22 LR and the cylinders look the same except for ten rounds instead of eight, No camfer, but they are countersunk so case heads are flush with back of cylinder. It is a perfect match for my GP-100 made in 2001 except for barrel length.

I got the first one my local dealer received. The front sight is a perfect fit, the chambers are countersunk but not chamfered.
