How incredible! I got the adjustable sights Bearcat and then made the "mistake" of going to Gunblast's website and watching Jeff Quinn's review of the revolver. He had a Cattleman holster from Simply Rugged. As fast as I could click the mouse on my computer, I had ordered one. Anyway, it just came today. It's got the hammer thong and the basket weave stamping. Sorry if I sound like a paid shill, but Simply Rugged makes some good stuff. This is my second holster from them. The other is a pancake holster for my SP101.

I'm really starting to like the Bearcat with Adjustable sights. And it has a nice tall front sight. This revolver is for my daughter to learn how to shoot, so I thought the hammer strap would make sense. I don't know if it's necessary or not really, but I figured it wouldn't hurt.

Thanks! Yeah Jim, my daughter is 8 and old enough now to start going to the gun range...man, time flies. Anyway, I just wanted her to get excited about the shooting sports and the gun world. So she helped pick the gun out at the store and everything. I guess really, she hasn't lived in a house without guns, so it isn't exactly new to her. But, believe me, her gun is still in my safe, so she can just "borrow" it more or less.

Except the holster is right handed. That was the one concession I had to make. It's very awkward for me as a leftie to even hold the gun in the hoslter. It's all backwards.

I have a belt, pancake that fits both my sp101 and all of our lcr's and now I need to call and order the cattleman for the new Rocs bearcat. Looks great by the way.

When I lost weight I went from a Sourdough to a Cattleman.

The Cattleman carries nicely both on foot and horseback. Both the draw and reholstering are quick and easy yet the gun is well protected.

My Cattleman has a hammer strap but I'm considering going to a thong. I know Rob preaches about not needing it but I am not comfortable on horseback without some sort of positive retention.

The Bearcat is not a big heavy gun. I bought Ruger branded hunters for my Bearcat, Single Six, and .44 Special Flat Top. They were too flimsy for the larger two, so they were returned. For the little bearcat, it is just right.

Nothing to dis your SR, it looks NICE.

Enjoy,

Jack

Thanks to all. I just got back from the range. I took out the bearcat and I am just so pleased with how accurate it is. I'm not the best shot, so off hand it was accurate. Then I got some sandbags and using them as a rest, I was getting a 3 inch group at 25 yards. In something like a random rest it would do even better. I know this isn't a real world expectation, but it does prove the Gun is more accurate then the shooter. This is not always the case with smaller revolvers.

I appreciate you sharing this holster, for dealing with the adjustable sight Bearcat. I believe I need one of them holsters. I found I have that bear cat when getting ready for the Ruger Collectors show. I forgot I had it apparently. Which is fine so long as I can get a holster for it, which I can.
