The Alan Harton thread prompted me to request pics and info on John Gallagher as he is in less than a days driving distance from me and also near a small town that I'd like to spend some time in. Very much interested in his Old Model .357 Blackhawk conversions to .44 Special. Pics of any of his work and info and your thoughts of his work would be appreciated!

Custom .44 mag that started life as a .41 - OM recessed cylinder, Douglas barrel, white line sights, steel XR3-RED gripframe.

I have three other custom Ruger single actions John built for me. He's an excellent craftsman and very fair to deal with. BTW, Colonel Daddy, he did the ERH and base pin work on that OM .41 you beat me out of, so you really already have one Gallagher gun :)

I sent this to John Gallagher. Barrel is made by John.

Along with this old weathered Dall Sheep horn I packed out of the Brooks Range on a Sheep Hunt.

This is what I got back.

Sadly I've never owned a Gallagher gun but I've handled enough of them to know that they are as good as it gets. I've never seen or heard of an unhappy client. You can see why.
