well guys sorry to say it but I left the single seven go today .ive been trying to consolidate calibers that I reload for I traded off my gp 100 in 327 a while back and have just been kinda loosing interest in the caliber so unfortunately the single seven was on the chopping block . its not all bad though I'm pretty happy with what I ended up with .I ran an ad on a local classified advertising it for sale or possibly trade for a different revolver chambered in 45 colt .I already own a 45 convertible Blackhawk and a pietta revolver with 45 colt conversion cyl.so a guy calls me up and offers me his 45 revolver it ends up being a 7.5 inch bisley Blackhawk 45 colt that has only seen about 20 rounds down the pipe, I'm thinking hell yea. ive handled them but never owned a bisley frame revolver . I know 45 colt is a bit more expensive to load for but its allot more enjoyable caliber imho. so I gave him my 7.5 inch single seven ,a set of lee dies ,a few hundred rounds of 32h&r and 327 brass straight up for his 7.5 inch bisley Blackhawk 75 rounds of factory ammo and about 75 rounds of brass. I'm pretty sure we both walked away happy . I cant wait to try it out this weekend .

If both parties are happy that's a win win in my book.

Let us know how the bisley shoots.

Always wanted to shoot a Bisley, sounds like a terrific trade on your end, but I confess to being very high on 45 Colt.

Sounds good. Glad you're happy. That's all that matters. I've been contemplating trading mine off for another Six Six 32 maggie to have converted to 327 a d have an extra cylinder made for 32-20. I would enjoy that i believe. But i do love my S7.

I personally would have had to keep the 327. Of all the calibers I shoot, 327 is my favorite. I have a couple of 45c, one is a Bisley, but I would not trade any revolver for a 327 unless it was a 4 5/8 327 Bisley.

Yeah, my S7 ain't going anywhere. Been shooting the .32 H&R since 1987. Wanted another but was in college so missed out on another. Where I heard the S7 had been introduced I wasted no time getting myself one. But, we all have our favorites. As long as what you got makes you happy, that's all that matters.

People look at me sideways when I drag out my S&W M&P's in .38 S&W. But they are sooo much fun to shoot.

Sounds to me like that Bisley 45 will be well cared for.

Well, many, many years ago, as my tastes, desires, and activities changed, I found I had sold or traded many guns I wish I still owned. I developed a case of seller remorse.
So, I went to a few good Ruger doctors, as well as a few other specialists, to see what the cure was for seller remorse.
In each & every case, the doctors told me "Stop selling,,, just buy & keep." That way, my seller remorse is reduced to old aches & pains from my youth, and will never completely heal. But I live happier & have a good collection of goodies to enjoy, whenever I desire, or when an activity pops up that requires a certain type of tool! My cure isn't affordable by all, and it also created a new disease called "Rugeritis." Luckily, I can easily cope with Rugeritis, and all it takes is money!

To the OP, by your posting, it appears both of y'all are happy,,,,! Enjoy!

I have only a slight knowledge of this idea of selling one thing to buy something else or trading one gun for another. I just keep buying.... Seriously, I get that everyone can't do this. I am divorced and am blessed with a good-paying job. I choose to spend my disposable income on firearms.

I think the OP did pretty well on his trade. Certainly, there are more Bisley 45's out there than 7.5" Single Sevens. I have all the .32's I ever bought but he is eliminating calibers. He will love the Bisley. I am keeping all of mine.

Thanks,

The 327 caliber looks to be well loved by some. I'm glad for this, that it isn't going anywhere. Easy to load for and would be an excellent caliber to teach new shooters because of the low recoil.

I wonder if Ruger or other companies will expand the 327 caliber. Or at least more factory ammo?

But to the OP, glad you made the trade for what you want. Like some others, I've sold a few and wished i hadn't, BUT also sold a few that I'm glad to be rid of.

While I generally prefer a Bisley gripframe for big bores with heavy recoil, I see the Single 7 as a compact little powerhouse. The muzzle blast can be stout, but the all steel, stainless, S7 handles recoil just fine as is. I immediately thought about converting my S7 to a Bisley gripframe but I ultimately sided for the smaller, more compact plowhandle with which it arrived from the factory.

I've been shooting 32 auto, 32 H&R mag and 327 Federal from my gun and it's a great shooter. If I had any 32 S&W or 32 S&W long I could shoot that as well. Very versatile little gun and it gets more range time than my 22's now.

I am a believer in the .32 family and I keep them close to me.
But I have not found it wise to give religious , marriage or gun trade advice. Just try to do them so you can be happy in the long term. And I sounds like you are.
Hey , not everyone "NEEDS" a little bore.
But that said, in the above story , the loss of the 327 GP-100 makes me the saddest.

You did ok. .45 Colt is "where it's at" :D . Enjoy. That said, I'll keep my .32s around for reloadable .22 purposes. Probably wouldn't have any .32s if it wasn't for the .22 shortage as I do have .357s.

I would have made the trade, you did fine. The .327 is one of the in-between cartridges that don't make sense to me, for my purposes.

Nothing wrong with it, it may even be better than .38/.357, it just doesn't offer enough for me to get into another cartridge.

.45 is one of my go to rounds, from acp, to LC, and someday to Casull.

If each of you walked away happy, that is a fine trade, personally I like both .327 and .45 Colt. Even better, I have both and am keeping them.

Mine has seen .32ACP way more than anything else, probably a ratio of 10:1. Low recoil and muzzle blast, relatively inexpensive (relatively), and a real hoot. I'm seriously starting to think of it as a reloadable .22 when it comes to range plinking and such.

I'm also thinking of swapping the S7 for a .327 SP101 but that's a whole new kettle of fish (and thread)...

Hey what ever makes you happy.. When I was younger I use to sell or tread in one gun to fund another.. I was always happy at the time. Ya new toy just what I wanted. Lots of fun just to make that kind of transaction but in just about every case I regretted it sooner or later.. Some times many years later.. I found out all to late I could never get the gun I traded back. Sure I could find another one like it but it was not the same as having THE gun. I had mostly sentimental reasons.. Had gotten rid of a few gun that were my dads well before he died never thinking someday they would mean more to me just to have them.. One was a D/B 12ga side by side shot gun that I just gave away and that gun was given to him by his uncle may years before I was even thought of. Every gun I have now means something to me. Ya I don't sell or tread anymore! learned way to late in life that arthritis sets in from kicking myself in the ass to may times.. IMO think long and hard before selling or treading. For some reason this is more true with guns then most other thing. George
