Even if they typed in an extra "0" it would be high.

I'd go as high as $350, I don't like Redhawks.

He needs to change the listing now, now that's it's said on forums that it's worth $350

Quit asking questions and hit that BUY IT NOW button now! I mean if it was written in an online forum you know the following has to be true.

"It is said on several forums that this revolver is literally worth its weight in Gold. That being the case, it weighs 44 oz. and gold is at 1267 per troy oz which comes to 50,680. So you are getting a bargain at less than half price."

The reply I received from my question to them asking: "Please tell me what makes this particular revolver worth so much. The MSRP is only $1189.00"? Their reply was:"it is a five shot, not a six shot.

But, "it's the rarest commercially produced firearm in history."

That line made me chuckle, too. As did the line about it being one of the most sought after guns in history.

Were the production numbers really that low?

I could see $25,000 if it were new in box, but being use, it's a $22,000 to $23,000 gun at best

It's one of 23 five shot 480 Alaskans that left the factory. Does that make it worth 25,000.00?
Not to me, but these are rare, and when they do surface they go for considerably more than current MSRP.

So you can get one extra shot for $24,000 less. ;)

I don't think the Ruger double action collectors market will ever catch up to that price in anyone's lifetime.

It's a Super Redhawk, and no it's definitely not worth anything near $25,000 -- not even close. Of course that's just my opinion, but I guess it is worth what someone is willing to pay (note that he didn't manage to sell it.).
