Here's one of mine. Fits my .45 NV like it was made for it. No maker's mark, but it's believed to have come from the Carrizo Springs, Texas area.

Alphonso of Hollywood made me this BBQ rig for my nickel 2 1/2" Python in about 1971.

A El Paso for a Smith 3" model 63-3 and several others.

Another Alponso rig for my 1911. My most favorite rig for 4" revolvers was a Jordan trooper "River" rig by Don Hume that was stolen out of my truck many years ago.

A nice lined Safariland.

Here is one of mine. Simply Rugged Cattleman for my 4" GP100.


Here is a Trailmaster with my 3" GP100, although I since sold both this gun and holster.

Thanks. Those grips - as you probably know - are spalted maple, and are contoured a little differently than standard style grips. Hmmm.... Now I've got a headache from tryin' to remember who it was that made 'em. The guy makes 'em and sells on ebay - or did a few years ago. Seems like he was in Missouri.

Here's mine...my copy of the Duke's rig used in so many flicks.

It's a money belt type of construction, with a buckle cut from a rotted out 1904 McClellan saddle stirrup leather. The holster is my copy of the old Tom Threepersons design but without the stitching at the muzzle. Son #1 made the skinning knife and I did that sheath as well.

The pic gives the entire rig a slightly pink cast that it doesn't have in fact. It's as comfortable as a pants belt when worn, even with that heavy Flat Top .44 Special. I made the grips, incidentally, from a piece of crab apple in a friend's wood pile....Rod

My favorite holster. Custom made by S.D. Myers of Sweetwater, TX. 5 1/2" Tom Threeperson's for my TLA Grover's Improved No5. Carved with my initials.

As I recall, Carizzo Springs was the nearest wet spot to S.F.A. I need to go there one of these days.
