A couple weeks ago I bought a 45 Colt Blackhawk. I posted some pictures of it and the factory grips which didn't fit the best. I just received a set of Patrick Grashorn grips in the mail. Last Monday I sent him my grip frame, so talk about fast turn around. Wow! Fast and excellent fit. They are so comfortable. The natural grips like wood and antler or Ivory which I've never seen in person, just have that warm comfortable feeling.

The grip to gun fit just couldn't be any better all the way around. I'm happy to say the least.

Patrick does great work and he's a real good guy to deal with too. I have two sets from him, one elk horn and one ram's horn.

Yours really make that Blackhawk look good!

Thanks Contender, you know Bob Wright speaks very highly of Patrick Grashorn's work and he's posted pictures of Elk Stag grips in the past.... It seemed like the obvious choice.

Here's a question, and I asked Mr. Grasshorn also but haven't heard back yet. But what sort of care and cleaning do people do for their stag or elk stag grips? Wax or any kind of oil?

The tough part is this weekend is the March of Dimes here in Dallas and I will be busy with that. Shooting will have to wait two weeks... But I did load up some more stout 45 rounds with Unique.

Rams horn, BIgMuddy? Hmmm. I bet those are nice. Thanks for the compliment.

Nice grips!! Unlike Jim Luke I like the bone grips. I have a set from Patrick on my 357 Bisley. Makes me want to send him my Single Seven to get a set fitted.

I must have a dozen sets. I have 3 that are big horn (pictures to follow), several matching pairs including ROAs, had a set of pythons, etc. Here's some pics (since the thread seems to be about Executioner):

Here's one set of bighorn on an OM 41 mag. I have another set on a 30 Carbine and a set waiting for a custom 38-40 Vaquero.

My wife's matching Vaqueros for SASS.

Wow thanks Bearbio, those are some nice looking guns. I like the big horn grips. They look smoother and more dense than the Elk grips. Are they more brittle too or about as sturdy?

I have a set of Sack Peterson Elk grips on another gun, they're very durable overall.

Trouble is Patrick makes very few due to the difficulty of getting good ramshorn. Two of my 3 pairs: I waited over a year for! The first pair, I got real lucky and had them in a month. All you can do is ask him and light a candle (?)

BearBio, Do you recall approx. what the cost is for a set of them? May have to start saving.
