folks, looking at the local gun store in ogden Kents and they had a adjustable sighted Super Single Six but the frame was marked just single six. I have handled a lot but this is the first time I had seen that? Anomaly? thanks Bob

The Old Model Single-Six, Super Single-Six, and Lightweight Single-Six are all marked "Single-Six".

I have Single-Six 6 1/2" convertible, adjustable sights, made 1975, no super marking.
When did Ruger began marking them "Super" Single-Six?

By "light weight" are you referring to early aluminum frames?

Any one have access to how many OM Super SS's had a 61 prefix?

RENE states Old Model Super Single-Six's serial numbers ran to 61-11135. This was the highest serial numbered gun to date as to when the book was written. With destroyed frames this would make about 10500 to 11000 made with the "61" prefix.

yessir, as noted above, the addition of 'adjustable rear rights' on the Single Six, makes it "super", this will only be on the end label of the box and the outside of the cardboard shipping sleeve, with a catalog number (Letters) of 'SC' and the number of the barrels length, IE "SC5" or some such..............
sounds like a nice gun, enjoy it.........
