For me,I think I have my 3 set combo complete now.
Top pair for fun Western style plinking.....Uberti/Winchester 1873 and Ruger NV all .45 Colt

Middle pair for woods and trail and general self defense.... Rossi Ranch Hand and Ruger SRH Alaskan
Ruger only .45 Colt +P loads.

Bottom pair for serious SHTF needs woods and trail or anywhere... Marlin 1895 GS and BFR revolver
all .45-70

After modifying the Rossi Ranch Hand rear sight it is a quick on target shooter to have on your shoulder.

Looks like you have it well covered with some great looking vintage guns!
Love that Winchester 1873 and M1 carbine you have!

Very Nice combo's BearBio pard!
(That nickel revolver looks to be Uberti's rendition of a New Model #3 S&W, not a Schofield. Very nice, and very hard to get!)

Mus408, do you shoot many 45-70 "Ruger only" rounds through that BFR revolver?!? That thing has to have some serious recoil!

Well the Hornady 325 gr. shelf ammo has some kick but not too bad and they go around 1450 out the BFR. Mostly I shoot my 405 gr. reloads with IMR 3031 and they are a mild but potent 1100 FPS.
It does make a nice kaboom when you shoot it! :D

Correct. I referred to it as a Schofield because few people know the difference.

I too like my 45 Colt Handi rifle. Much better than any other Handi I've owned or own. And thats quite a few. I have a Rossi 92 in 45 Colt and a couple single actions in same caliber.

I also have a 357 max Blackhawk and rifle. I've since put that stockset on my 30-30 but still have the rifle.

I have a 357 magnum Rossi levergun and a few single actions in that caliber.

The only rifle/handgun combos that I have are .22 rim fire and .357 Magnum. These were not intentionally purchased for the purpose of carrying same cartridge combinations. In fact, I usually do not carry both.

If I am carrying a .22 handgun, my rifle is likely to be a high powered center fire. If my rifle is a .218 Bee, my handgun will likely be a .44 special. Same if I'm carrying a .22 rifle.

If we get to a SHTF situation, I certainly want one of the two to be chambered for
.22 LR. Likely the handgun. The other would likely be a Mini-14 in .223.

Just my thoughts,

Gunblast long ago reviewed a 92 lever in .480. (Also in .454.) They went out of production after not making many and I've never had a chance to buy a used one. Considering the fact that I keep finding .480's to buy... sure wish I had one of those levers!
