Its been a good week for purchasing replacement grips for two of my "Old Model" 3 screws.
I'm curious to know what type of wood is on the factory grips. Anyone have an idea?

I would say that is Goncalo Alves that Ruger used from the mid to late eighties. Nice guns BTW!

The wood sure doesn't strike me as being walnut, so I really couldn't hazard a guess as to when Ruger would have produced them -or, out of what wood.
Your reply prompted me to look up "Gonçalo Alves."
I had no idea... I thought that was a person's name! :lol:
