I don't know as to the number, but I have only seen two for sales in the last three years and they were asking a handsome price for each.

The 38-40 Buckeye was a convertible in 10mm/38-40. In the 10mm forum a fellow found a 40S&W and had it made into a 10mm. I have been hoping for years that Ruger through Lipsey or Talo would come out with a new convertible in 10mm/40S&W. So far no luck.

Whether it's one of the .40S&W only guns made for the San Diego Sheriff's Dept. or one of the .38-40 convertibles, it sounds like his production numbers are a little off.

smith1961, I doubt you'll ever see a New Vaquero in 41 mag. It would require the larger frame of the Vaquero & Ruger stopped production of those several years ago. Plus, the Vaquero was primarily for the SASS crowd, and 41 mag was not on the "list of calibers" that was popular or possibly allowed to be used. Lastly, a Vaquero in 41 mag wouldn't likely sell enough volume to make it feesable, IF they did try & offer it. The era to have such a gun would have been when Ruger still offered the original, larger framed Vaquero.
Custom built will be the only option.

Here are a pair of .40cal - 38/40 convertibles and matching series #s (sans prefix) buckeyes in 10mm - 38/40 and 32 h&r - 32/20.
