I have a Redhawk and a Super Redhawk both in .44 magnum. The rear sight assemblies wiggle ever so slightly left and right. Is this normal?

Thanks for the info. I was just worried because the entire rear sight assembly moves very slightly left and right on both guns.

Factory ruger sights move enough that they do affect the left right bulket placement.

Staking the side of the sight itself eliminates this but still let's it adjust

I had a Blackhawk that did that. I put a really thin shim in between the sight assembly and the frame. Can't remember what I made it out of (sliver of wood or plastic, perhaps?), but you could pick any number of materials. Solved the problem.

I get rid of the wiggle by putting in Bowen sights. Built like tanks and keep the zero, no matter what. Good investment.
