My brother is looking at one that the owner wants $1000, it has no box and is in about 95%. It is made in the early 60's. Are they really worth that much, used with no box?

I know things have gone up a lot in the last couple years, but - yes - that does seem high to me as well.

IIRC, I paid $625 for the flat top 357 OM pictured in my avatar.

I'm sorry, I forgot the caliber. It's a 41mag. He said it was from the early 60's and not a brass grip frame or at least he didn't mention it.

OK, from the RENE Price Guide, 4-5/8" Old Model .41 mags in "collector condition" w/o box . . .

Non "INC" barrel version $755

Non-prefix, with "INC" $705

40-prefix $620

Documented brass grip frame version $4100 (Yes $4100)

:)

Sorry, not sure what INC means but guessing company included INC as in incorporated? , and INC went away sometime before the 40- prefix? Thanks I will let him know, he offered $800 and the guy declined so he turned it down. I told him before I posted here that I thought $800 was high and he ought to be glad the man turned him down. Thanks again
