I don't think they're particularly scarce. I just sold one (traded it, actually) last month. I think the new owner has already resold it too.

Nice guns, big and heavy for a .357. They're pleasant to shoot, but I wouldn't want to carry one around all day. I doubt you could wear one out in 100 years. The metal on mine was perfect, but the factory wood grip panels were not finished very nicely. It had a smooth enough action and a so-so trigger--typical of Ruger's output in the 1990s.

Thanks.

Since posting I've "seen" people post 75 to 100 (not that I disbelieve what you said, either) but closed auctions and forum ads I've seen haven't been all that pricey ($500-$700) for that low a production number. Guess if 75-100 is accurate, that shows rare and valuable aren't synonymous.

I just got one, guess I'll shoot the snot out of it for a while then pass it along to the next owner eventually.

According to the RENE guide;
Estimated production of stainless 357 Original Vaqueros.
KBNV-34I = 5,700
KBNV-34IE = less than 500

LOL that's a lot different that 75-100.

I'll look up the differences between those SKUs, thanks.

Contender! KBNV is a Stainless original Vaquero. The Bisely would be a KRBNV.

According to the RENE,
KBNV = stainless Blackhawk New model Vaquero with high polish.

street is correct, I forgot the Bisley part. (Too busy trying to look, type & all at one time.)
According to the RENE, the KNOWN serial number range of the KRBNV-34 is 58-56236 to 58-56257. There isn't any info in the RENE as to estimated production numbers.

I apologize for any confusion.
