In an incredibly astute move (uncharacteristic for Ruger's marketing) Ruger has re-introduced a run of the 7.5" 480R SRH (brushed stainless "white gun"), MSRP is $1119. The 44Mag SRH guns are $100 less.

Big gunshow this last weekend found three SRG guns in 480R, none tagged under 750. The 44mag guns were there but cheaper, and one 454C was 800+. Consider gunshow prices as "real world" but everyone has their own value.
I rate the 480R as a must-have for handgun hunters, but its not a beginner's gun.

I'll jump right up and buy one of the new .480's to go with my Alaskan... if Ruger will relent and make some in 9.5". I have a SRH .44 Magnum in 9.5" with scope and it is perfect for a deer stand.
