What book would you recommend that has a good history of the Colt SAA in Army service, especially the Infantry? Thank you and God bless.

I like the Wilkerson books--he has one for second generation and one for third generation saa's. Additionally, he wrote one for the scouts and peacemaker .22's

The Wilkerson books are good too including the shirt pocket size Quick Reference Guide 1873 to 1999 whih comes with an update sheet of serial numbers to the present. No detailed references for military issues however. But I especially like Keith Cochrans "Colt Peacemaker Yearly Variations" small handbook for 1st gens and pre war-post war 1 gens, and his larger "Colt peacemaker Collector" in 3 ring binder, both for their quick 'look up' ability of detailed changes.
