How do you find out how many 2'' 22lr sp101 produced and production years?

With out a doubt, that is the most desirable of all SP101 variants, not sure if desirable means valuable. I would consider it a must have for somebody who carried an SP101 for training. Ruger doesn't release production numbers. I would think $500 would be a good price for both partys. If somebody really wanted it bad who knows?

I've seen them on Gunbroker occasionally and they're typically priced at $650 or higher.

Thank you all for the info. I purchased the sp101 22lr 2'' for $450. It looks like it wasn't shot much. This sp101 22lr serial #570-701xx. The Ruger product history site shows all sp101 22lr #'s start at 577-xxxxx starting in 2010. The #570xxxxx's do not show a 22lr production, just centerfire sp101's with that # produced from 1989 to 1992. Any thoughts on that?

See RENE. Ruger's site info is simply not accurate.

http://ruger.com/service/productHistory/RE-SP101.html

And Rugers site has 2 SP "categories" one marked SP101 which includes all caliber SPs including your 22LR and mine. Plus category SP101 22LR which is reserved for the "new" SPs in 22LR. Not at all confusing, I know.

The page you refer to does not include 22lr caliber production in the heading...it is confusing, must have been left off by mistake.
SP101 Revolver
Calibers: 327 Fed, 32 Mag, 9mm, 38 Spl, 357 Mag

I found one completed sale on Gunbroker for $927, WOW! :D

If you would rather own a 98% S&W Model 15-5 Combat Masterpiece 2" Snub, I can fix you up.
The SP101-22 in a 6 shot snub is on my current want list.

An eight shot 2inch SP101 would be nice, preferably with fixed sights. I was seriously looking for a snub nose .22lr SP, but stumbled on a S&W 317 w/ crimson trace grips that has been great. You have to keep an open mind when buying guns and don't hesitate when you find a deal. These three all came to me used for good deals in a two week span, I wasn't looking for any of them.

Wow! I bought, actually traded, for my SP101, 6 shot, 4" heavy barrel about six or eight years ago. Traded a POS Walther P-22 & $75. Right now, it is one gun I wouldn't get rid of.
