Fairly new, 300-400 rounds with live ammo, about same number dry-firing.

Everything fine when dry-firing with snap caps.

With live ammo often have incredibly hard trigger pull, sometime twice in a cylinder. Takes both trigger fingers to finish the shot.

If the misbehavior was consistent, I'd consult a gunsmith. My bet is it would be like the disappearing toothache when you go thru the dentist's door.

Any ideas?

Yes it did, thanx. Varminterror may have hit on the problems. My casings, even 38 sp don't like to extract cleanly. I'll bet the casings aren't rebounding as they should.
