I picked up and LCR 9mm at my LGS Friday and got a chance to fire a few rounds yesterday.

I had never fired a light weight 9mm revolver before so I was not sure what to expect. The recoil was significantly greater than the +P 38 LCR but it was manageable and not really uncomfortable - except with Remington 124 grain Golden Saber (not +P). That load popped the first pad on my trigger finger fairly sharply and the gun kicked a bit. Even so, it was reasonable compared to full charge 357 loads.

The other loads I tried were fairly pleasant. Almost all the loads printed a couple of inches low at fifteen feet. The exception was the Fiocchi 147 grain JHP, which shot to point of aim.

The full moon clips that came with the gun were easy to load and unload.

I had ordered a few Ultimate Arms moon clips for the SP101 to see if these would work with the LCR. Unfortunately, they do not. The cylinder of the LCR is relieved to accept the Ruger clips. The Ultimate Arms clips are wider and also hold the cartridges further away from the center than do the Ruger clips.
