OOh got me a good one!!

So I got this from my father a week ago. It is a 6.5 inch new model Blackhawk convertible .357-9mm with the original box, sheath for 9mm chamber, and all that came with it. It is the first year made of the new model. 1973. box is the typical red and white unit, sheath is red, gun is in almost mint condition. has little bluing issue at the end of the barrel from holstering. This is one of my dream guns. What is this thing worth for insurance reasons, as it is now my sidearm when hunting here in Missouri.

I'm assuming by your post, you got a nice convertible Blackhawk. The "sheath" comment made me sause,, as I'm sure you meant a red felt bag for the cylinder, (not chamber.) For insurance purposes,,, I'd look at the current value of one, as they are still being offered.

Yes sir you are correct, the bag that the cylinder came with is red. what a beautiful firearm to look at. all original and one that im not afraid to shoot.....

Great gun. I'm one of those who likes the new models, especially the prewarning ones like yours. Should be able to pass that down a few more generations.
