Those of you that have one.......... what leather are you using?

From El Paso Saddlery, I think it runs about $120.

I have the talo vs with a bit of tweaking and use two shucks with it.

First is a CME Holster crossdraw rig. Right around $65 and the best crossdraw rig I've used. Liked it enough I got another matching one for a matching single ten I'm building.

Secound is a ross strong side holster. Picked it up for about $40

Little gratuitous gun porn

Thanks for the photos. Liked the Ross, ordered one yesterday. This is my first order. Any hint as to how long until delivery?

It is a front sight off of a k-22 target masterpiece. There isn't a better sight for me than a black patridge if the range will be longer than social distances. The k-22 blades don't quite fit as the blade that fits the base is the wrong shape and about half as thick as the ruger blades. A little judicious work with a file, and shim on either side made out of a washer the correct thickness and your in business. Here's a few pictures of initial fit.

After fitting.

And a little bonus feature for those who want an affordable screw on front base for pinned sight blades, this is one we made for a matching single ten project. We removed this base from a barrel in the junk box, but ruger does sell the stainless bases with no slot and cross pin machined in. We thought it would be easier to remove it from the barrel than to machine it. You need ALOT of heat to get the silver solder to let go. I think it would be a lot easier to mill a fresh base. They're only a few bucks from ruger, midway, or brownells.

After heat and a BFH.

cleaned up.

Sight installed and screw hole fitted. We drilled the larger od hole for the head first as the point of the drill it started a pilot square in the middle for the smaller shank diameter to start in, no worries on the bit walking.

Test fit to gun. Barrel will be shortened to 3.75" and sight mounted appropriately. Just need to find time to whack it, fit the grip frame to the stags, and fit the bisley hammer and the shorty 22 will match the shorty 44 pretty close.

I purchased and am using a Simply Rugged Holster for mine. I think Rob has made up a couple of different holsters: the Pancake and #120 for this handgun. I am thinking I purchased one of each but don't have them out right now and have no photos of them but I am very happy with them!
