Bisley Vaquero convertible, a rare and collectible single six depending on overall condition and whether the case is original with all paperwork etc..

Been trying to find one like for a couple years...nice find!

It is NOT a Vaquero. It's a Single Six. Bisley Convertible Fixed Sight Single Six to boot.

The .32H&R Single Six fixed sight used to be called the "Vaquerito," but this is not a Vaquero.

From what I see in your pictures, I have a question or two.

Evidently the KRB-24-FW is a fairly hard-to-find 4 5/8 Bisley Single-Six chambered in 22 LR. Your "envelope" calls out 22 LR. Yet you have a 22 Mag cylinder also.

It would seem from all that I read that the 22 Mag cylinder did not come with the original gun. Is this the case or do you know?

Do both cylinders have a number inscribed on them?

Davidson's received 945 of the KRB-24FW from 2002 through 2004 (the "F" is the abbreviation for "fixed" sights).
Also, this gun is not the same as the Shootists/Tom Ruger Commemorative of which there were 52 made. The Shootists/TR gun is a Bisley with adjustable sights.

It is a semantic difference. To me, a ruger fixed sight gun is a vaquero...I guess I should have put it in quotes-"vaquero"....

I describe it as a Single six....you are technically correct....carry on!

Thanks for the help guys!
In response to NewportNewsMike; Both cylinders are numbered to the gun with the last three digits of the serial number on them (608). The box is original and numbered to the gun and the gun is new in box.

It's not a "semantic" difference.
Vaquero is a specific model name, not merely a generic term for a fixed-sight Ruger single-action.

I agree, not semantics and not a Vaquero. It's a fixed sight Bisley Single Six. Calling it a "Vaquero" because it has fixed sights is like calling a Super Single Six a "Blackhawk" because it has adjustable sights. Not semantics, just wrong.

Now girls let's stop arguing!

NewportNewsMike; No story to speak of. I purchased it at an online live auction a few years back and actually watching a different lot. They had the sound on and the auctioneer stated that the seller said there were very few of these made. Maybe 4 or 5, but could not verify the info. So I'm turning to the "Oracle Of The Forums" to get some additional background.

You asked if someone could tell you about your revolver, and we're telling you it ain't a Vaquero. :)
Does that help?

Definitely a losing argument to call something a "Vaquero" when it has "New Model Single Six" stamped on the side...

So you gotta answer the question - do the two cylinders match up for SN?

Since you said the cylinder SN's match up, then you can be confident that it was either a convertible when it left the factory, OR somebody sent it back to Ruger to have another cylinder made (argue all you want, it's not that hard to make it happen). BUT... when you send it in for a replacement cylinder, they don't usually stamp them, so I'd be pretty confident that it's a factory Convertible, which makes it all that much cooler.
