I recently purchased a Stainless Ruger Super Blackhawk serial # 87-35xxx
When cleaning the gun, I noticed the forcing cone is different than
any I'd ever seen. It seems to be very deep, infact I can put a .432"
lead bullet in about .450" before it comes in contact with the rifling.
One person told me it may have been "Maxi Throated" at Reeder's.
I always thought Maxi Throating was part of a Linda Lovelace movie.
The seller assured me that the gun has never been worked on by a gunsmith
My question is this. Has Ruger changed their forcing cone depth in
recent years?
