Hmm...An Old Army shooting .490" RB would have made a great companion to a TC .50 Hawken I used to lug around the woods years ago... :(

Would I buy one now at today's prices? Probably not. Rather see a BIG bore 5 shot SBH...

Of course there's always the lottery...

Another thing to consider is they are still showing up NIB.... If they were so popular, you'd think this would be almost impossible. 3 of the 4 Old Army Revolvers I have were purchased as NIB (one minus the box). Now there is only one NIB and it will get shot someday. These were built to be shot.... This was just in the recent few years. Just saying! Oh, at a recent gun show, there was a pair of the 5 1/2" fixed sighted SS Old Army NIB.

I really enjoy 'em, but they are not for everyone. You do have to have some patience to shoot 'em and then spend time cleaning them up properly afterward.

Send the cylinder off to Clements and have the holes deepend while it's there. I've had 3 done on my keepers and it was well worth it to me.

Been thinking of doing this myself, what did you end up gaining?

Those Ruger ivory-like grips are not too bad though. I like the ones on my ROA!
