One never knows, and yes they are "different" and YES, theyALL have a story......reminds me of a Single Six, we bought years ago at the Columbus,Ohio OGCA show, guy had a sign on his back "Chrome Ruger Single Six for sale" and I got it for $200 and I asked him "what makes you thinks its 'chrome, they chrome bumpers and nickel plate guns"...he laughed and said he had the box at home and it had a "Chrome" white sticker on the box....this was back in the early 70's, no big deal as to "plated" guns and at that price he was not trying to sell us a pig in a poke....shook hands , he said he'd bring the box to the next show ,yep, I should have insisted on and gave him some money to ship me the box, and to this day never heard or got anything............alas the gun did NOT "letter" and Steve Vogel, was sent some pictures and he said the next time we got together he would look it over, make his own determination/opinion, needless to say Steve passed away, and to this day Laura would not ever think about selling it,it is what it is...........and ANY flatgate in the #19,000 serial number range is worth WAY more than $200 !!!!!
Dan M ( the Sultan of Shine) can certainly attest for the "niceties" of plated guns 8)
