New guy with my SS Bisley Vaquero in 44 Magnum. I just wanted to add it to the collection.

I have a stainless .45 Colt with a 5-1/2" barrel:

And a blued .44 magnum that started out with a 4-5/8" barrel. I had it re-barreled to 7-1/2" by a local gunsmith:

I know, I know, old thread resurrected....

I was searching the inner-web for pictures of buckeye burl gun grips and came across a picture in google images of a picture in this thread. That and Bearpaw Jack said it was an inspiring thread.... And I know everyone here like good gun pictures. So heck, why not.

I still have a hard time deciding between dark grips on a stainless gun or light grips on annoyed gun, or vice versa. Should they be high contrast or blend in more.

I have a blued gun with very dark grips, I kind of like that style more I think.

Above 41 Magnum

Below 22 Single Six...same grips, original to the 41 magnum, but I liked them better on the Single Six. The 41 now has a set of really dark black grips.

Since my last post, I picked up another BV. according to the original owner, this one had the barrel bulged by a squib load. He sent it back to the factory for a new barrel. They did a full re-blue job on it when they installed the new barrel:

A 44 Mag.

A 45 Colt.
Who did hammer or hammer spur, A. Harton? I like Bisley grip, but IMO SBH hammer spur is superior to Bisley one.

Mike Campbell with that being an old model gun but with a bisley grip frame I had to use a Clements old model bisley hammer/trigger group and that is the way it sets in an old model gun with the new model style bisley grip frame.

Rafsob.

That is a great looking Bisley. I really like the barbwire grip panels. Where did you get them?

Mr. Barnes,

if you revisit this thread, could you please explain the rearward trigger position on this gun?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but this looks normal on OM 3 screw revolver, no conversion, custom work for somebody with shorter fingers.

Apparently, that's what you "normally" get when you Bisley-ize an old model. But it's the only old model in this entire thread and the first and only one I've ever seen with a Bisley treatment; my eye was drawn to the trigger position.
I've been educated.

The most beautiful I had seen here (my dream revolver) is Bisley OM flattop, but with SBH hammer spur, done by A. Harton. Hope our member who has it will post picture.

My Bisley Hunter.

It's been worked over by David Clements plus a modified grip frame and new panels by Jack Huntington.

Most of mine are customs.

David Clements .44Mag:

A pair by Clements, .45Colt (top) and .44Mag (bottom). The bottom gun is now in the hands of Jack Huntington and will return soon with some serious changes. The .45 may make a trip too!

Custom .500JRH by Huntington with two sets of grips, ivory and micarta:

A Colt-type for good measure. This time a Cimarron .357 with Persinger ivory:
