Hope I got this in the right area, if not, Mods, please feel free to move it. Most of you that know me know I'm kinda a Maximum nut!!   I've been recording Max serial numbers since about 1986 or so, up to about 2000. Trying to establish ratio of 7 1/2 to 10 1/2, production dates, and variations. Believe it or not there are possibly around 10 variations to each barrel length!  If ya got one I wouldn't mind knowing the number and configuration. Send me a PM if you don't wish to post your number. All answers strictly confidential. Thanks in advance and thanks to all those that have already sent them in, God Bless, Coogs
Below are some pics of the front sight height variation on the 7 1/2 Max. Don't have the exact dimensions, but the difference is obvious. If you have sent me a number on the 7 1/2 could you take a look at it and let me know which front sight you have? I appreciate it, thanks, Coogs.

I have a 357 maximum, 600-01499. It has a 10 inch barrel. If there is some other info you are after, let me know.
Cheers,

Still out here lookin'   I have recorded quite a few more but still never enough! Even if you have converted it I'd like the number. PM or e-mail is fine, or even if you would like to post it. Thanks to all that have responded, God Bless, Coogs.

Close, about 1600 off. All in all, it is a shame that Ruger actually "scrapped" over 5000 of these wonderful guns    , Coogs

Thanks for the number! Yes, either one would be a 7 1/2. From about 600-11000 or so up to 600-11588 are all 7 1/2 guns. Everything after 600-11588 has been scrapped. Haven't pinned down the blocks of numbers yet as to where all the 10 1/2 guns are, or the 7 1/2 guns, but right now it's running about 65% 10 1/2 vs. 35% 7 1/2, roughly, that is, Coogs.
