I guys. I am interested in mounting a Burris Fastfire 3 on my SB Hunter.
I have seen some mounted using a mount that replaces the rear sight.
Can anyone direct me to that particular mount? Also, I would welcome
any opinions on the effectiveness of this option for hunting.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Jerry. That is the one I want. I reached out to him. Production is down
because of wildfires, but he hopes to be back up after the first of the year.
That is a very slick and compact mount.

I Evoloution Gun Works makes a mount that replaces the rear sight. Not quite as low profile as the Raptor mount but a whole lot lower than a section of rail + rail adapter + MRDS.

Also Burris makes a mount specifically for the Fast Fire to mount into the ring cutouts on a Ruger Super Redhawk or BH Hunter, although I am not sure if the mount is still made.

The Raptor is my current favorite, but they have a message on their website:

We will likely have to evacuate soon due to fires headed our way. So we are not taking orders until ??????

What kind of punch do you use to drive out that itty bitty pin?
You'll need a 0.055" punch. A numbered drill bit size 54 is exactly 0.055". Good luck!

Turns out if the pin is in tight a #55 drill isn't going to work.

1.) Remove the vertical adjustment screw. The pin might be loose enough to push the pin out with a #55 drill.
2.) If the pin is still tight after removing the vertical adjustment screw a 1/16" punch and hammer should work. Its very close but others have reported it works as well as me.

Allchin gun parts might make a mount for it. I have one on my ruger GP 100 and liked it so well also got one for my smith & Wesson 629. They work great on both. Had them in less than a week.

On their website as of 01/10/2021:

UPDATE 12/30/2020:
We are still recovering from a horrible fire in our Santa Cruz CA mountains.
We had to evacuate for a few weeks. Our house was spared unlike several of our friends homes.

We are not yet back up and running the mount production.
At this point it is unclear if we will resume operation.
