Thinking of getting one of these. I've always mostly shot 9mm, and still do . But I also would, at times use 38/357. Would like the opinion of those who own these what their thoughts are.

Outstanding guns! The flat top is my personal choice but I've had several full sized ones that were good shooters too. Can't go wrong.

I like mine. A NM. I am looking for another in the smaller frame to go with it. I shoot the 9mm cyl quite a bit because I have a lot of 9mm cases.

I have a NM that I bought a long time ago. Mostly shoot 38 & 357 out of it. I do like it when I'm doing a 9mm day and I can swap cyl's. I haven't notice much of a difference in accuracy between the two. I'm not paper punching off of a rest though.

I know there is a .002 difference between the two. Others have complained that it's "not as accurate", I just want it accurate for "government work".

How do you find the accuracy between the 9 & 38/357?
I sighted my Lipsey convertible 9mm/.38/357mag in for 25 yards and shoot off hand. I have not noticed a big difference in accuracy in .357 and 9mm at 25 yards, but at 50 yards to 100 yards it might be a different story. I shoot mostly medium power 158 grain semi-wadcutter cast lead handloads in .357mag and factory 147 grain 9mms.

I haven't shot mine with the 9mm cylinder for decades. Initially using the FMJ commonly available, it wasn't nearly as accurate as the 38's I regularly used. Now, I'm a much more advanced handloader and would expect I can make loads using plated bullets that would be acceptably accurate.

I also have the Lipsey's exclusive 5.5" Flattop. It a great gun and nice shooter in all 3 cartridges.
I'm very happy with it.

I have the 4.62 inch Stainless Flat top. It is my favorite BH. I shoot 9mm in it a lot and it shoots just as good as when I shoot 38's out of it.

Convertibles are the way to go as it allows you more options.

Bought one from a member here. It has become one of my favorite guns. :)

Another vote for the versitality.

I have a 4 5/8" Blackhawk that is just the .38/.357. I am in the process of purchasing a 9mm cylinder for it from another forum member.

I'm eager to shoot 9mm as well.
