Is the color through and through on polymer frame Rugers?

Are the teal, yellow, blue, etc colors of the polymer frames on, for example the Ruger EC9s and other poly frame series, the through and through color of the frame material? Or is it a surface treatment color applied over a standard black frame?
I couldn't envision a colored coating being applied to a base frame, but then some guns have the camo pattern which adds another facet to my question.
A relative recently bought a teal and aluminum cerekote EC9s as there is no stainless steel option. A visually striking gun, and quite the shooter, I wonder about a teal coat (if it is just that) wearing off at sharp corners with holstering.
Thanks friends.
Waiting to be educated. In the meantime I'll stick to stainless steel myself....

Plastic parts of gun color goes all the way through.
Metal parts of gun color is basically just paint on the surface.

That's not accurate. It varies within product family if it is cerakote or dyed polymer. There are some families with colored frames that are exclusively cerakote (e.g., Security-9).
